SpaceBar

Summary:

'Space Bar' is a simple doom-styled  first-person-shooter game made over 2 days for an internal game jam at the NFTS (where I'm currently studying). The theme of this jam was 'Space Tourism', and has you play as a bartender at a hotel bar in space, firing drink orders at the correct customers using your drink-dispensing gun.

Inspirations:

As mentioned, the gameplay here was inspired by primarily by 'Doom' to be a 3D game with 2D enemies / character sprites.

The Art Style was originally planned to match 'Doom' also and have a retro, pixelated style, but due to time restraints and some a great looking shader that we discovered on Unity's Asset Store, we shifted to a more cartoon-y art style which I think meshed much better with the tone of the game.

My Role & Collaborators:

The game was made by our team of 4, and apart from contributing when we were developing the idea for the game my main role in the jam was in creating the artwork / animations for all of the 2D 'enemies' you shoot the drinks at.

Above, you can see several screenshots from the game (unfortunately, not all of the artwork I created was added in in time for the 2-day deadline).

Below, you can see a few examples of the 2D art assets / animations I made for the game (all are extremely copyrighted, so we don't play to monetize this game anytime soon! They were drawn solely for the reason of parody).
