Coding at Camp

Story:

'Coding at Camp' is the story of a teenage boy that's gone camping with his family, but forgot to do his coding assignment and it's due tomorrow. You play as him as he tries to avoid getting distracted by his surroundings, pressing the correct key(s) at the correct time.

Inspirations:

The original idea for this game was to make Twister for your keyboard, where, like Twister, the game would tie your fingers up in knots as you try to reach each of the keys that you need to.

The Art Style is a simple, a low-poly / toon-shaded look, based on several stylized games such as Firewatch, Outer Wilds, and Life is Strange.

My Role & Collaborators:

The main focus of this project was to develop our coding skills in C#, so that's where the majority of my time went in this project. As well as programming, I was also responsible for the game concept, Level Design, UI and the Audio Implementation. All of the models were taken from the asset store, and the actual sound effects & music used are from various online sources (see the credits for the full list).

Above, you can watch a full playthrough of the game.

Below are some stills from the game, code excerpts, and initial sketches, as well as some screenshots of the unity project to show how I structured my work.
