Fade: A Ghost Story

Summary:

'Fade: A Ghost Story' was my entry for the GJL Game Parade Spring 2021 game jam, made in just under a week, and was ranked #32 overall out of 71 entries (coming #12 for visuals). The game follows a ghost that's travelling back in time in order to get back it's lost memories, all the while being pursued by a reaper who wants to take them away..

Inspirations:

The gameplay here was inspired by many 'walking simulator' type games, and the story from stories like 'To The Moon', 'A Ghost Story' and 'Haunting of Hill House'.

The Art Style is simple, 2D, and inspired by many cartoon-style games like Binding of Isaac and Among Us.

My Role & Collaborators:

For this game, I worked on almost all aspects (Story Writing, Dialogue, Artwork, UI, Animation and Programming). The part I didn't work on was the background music - these were found and mixed by one of my classmates at the NFTS (Benjamin Gardiner) and the tracks themselves were made by various artists that posted them online (see the credits for the full list).
